Our Shared Journey: From its inception, Mama's Healing Garden has been a testament to the strength of unity. Our grassroots movement is driven by the passion and dedication of residents who share a common goal – to create a space of healing and empowerment for all.

A Place of Healing: We've transformed an underutilized portion of Summerlea Park into a thriving oasis of healing. Through our Summerlea Park Community Garden, we've not only grown organic fruits and vegetables but also nurtured a sense of belonging, fostering healing of the mind, body, and soul.

Empowering Through Education: Our commitment to education extends beyond gardening. Through workshops, training, and mentorship, we've empowered community members with essential life skills. From cultivating food to cultivating personal and professional growth, we've witnessed lives transformed through knowledge and empowerment.

Building Connections: Mama's Healing Garden is a hub for building meaningful connections. Our regular group meetings, mentorship programs, and skill-building activities provide opportunities for individuals to connect, learn from one another, and share their journeys.

Positive Change: Since our inception, Mama's Healing Garden has achieved remarkable milestones. Our community-driven initiatives have secured over $40,000 in funding from city grants, allowing us to expand our impact. We've established African drumming and healing circles programs, provided support for caregivers affected by community-based violence, and formed the Next Level Residents Association with 21 community members.

A Vision of Thriving Residents: Our vision extends beyond the present. Through holistic education, sustainable food production, and fostering a sense of community, we aim to equip individuals with the tools they need to thrive – not just for themselves but for generations to come.
